Humanoids or anthropomorphism, is everything that has similarity to humans, either by characteristics or appearance.
When digital technology boomed, first in fiction novels and then in reality, the androids took notoriety. They are a clear example of anthropomorphic robots.
When in the future of work we talk about humanoids, we mean robots equipped with artificial intelligence with some goal/objective or feature/functionality to help the human being in his daily tasks.
In the future of work, humanoids will do all the boring or repetitive tasks that, as humans, we no longer want to do, for example, download materials from a truck, paint a wall, do a search, do some rescue operation or even a domestic assistant to request tasks such as making breakfast or cleaning the house.
This will also have an impact on work and many of the work tasks that can be automated or assigned to humanoids will be performed. Towards a more digitalized future, humanoids can also perform tasks that require intellect and decision and execute them, such as military humanoids or security assistants.
It’s also believed that many may perform tasks of attention to the public or even recruitment, medicine or psychology.
Already in many countries, there are humanoid productions, both as personal or household or even industrial assistants. Japan is one of the pioneer countries in the area.
In addition to the great utility that this progress will give us, it also generates a great philosophical, moral and religious debate.
In the earthly, labor and economic, many believe that this will generate a great social inequality generating an economic shock and a debate of how the work of the future will be.
Others also consider it immoral, because as humans we shouldn’t play God.
There is also the question of “power”. Who can build robots and assign them tasks without laws, could dominate certain areas or use that power for their own benefit and not that of society in general.
As for the philosophical you can consider the “Three Laws of Robotics” Where it’s put into discussion if the humanoid or robot having its own autonomy could attack the human.
Some believe that it’s something that cannot be stopped, since they consider that any technologically advanced civilization has humanoids or robots involved. These are also some of those who believe that extraterrestrial civilizations are humanoids or robots or cyborgs.
Some religions believe it’s immoral that we materialize or build things to manipulate nature, but this philosophy not only encompasses robotics or humanoids, but is part of those that are against unnatural nature.
As happened throughout history, the future will have a new moral, religious and philosophical division, the natural versus the artificial.
What would you use a humanoid for?
