Science fiction and futurism movies have accustomed us to see a future where technology, robots and AI will end up dominating us.
In 1957 the mathematician and physicist John von Neumann said that technological progress advances at an exponential rate and changes human and society life in increasingly shorter periods of time, which would lead the human race to a singularity, explaining that if the machines surpass the human intellect, it could improve itself exponentially, giving rise to a superintelligence that can cause dominance over the human race.
Several mathematicians, physicists, writers and technicians from that day to date have given more strength to this theme as they argue that both globalization, technology, 5G + IoT, artificial intelligence, human biological improvement, interfaces human body – robots / computers day by day brings us closer to the singularity.
Non-biological intelligence is present with much more force and is involved in medicine, work, industry, processes, decisions, statistics, currency / money, business, space, food, clothing, cleaning, communications, transportation, etc.
In the future of work, manual and cognitive work performed in a predictable and repetitive way by people will be replaced by machines. With the passage of time the work will be assigned to the machines as has happened throughout history with technology.
We will have more time for other tasks, as we had to do other activities while the washing machine saved us hours in the time it took us to wash our clothes.
The singularity will come sooner or later. It’s taking us out of the natural and biological plane, taking us to a different future, in a mix with technologies and tools that may even have the autonomy to create their own society and race…
